The till. Categories down the side, the menu in the middle, the order on the right — the layout is a cashier preference, and there are three. What your customer seesما يراه عميلك
A customer is about a metre away and gives the screen roughly two seconds. So one number dominates, item names are large enough to check from there, and Arabic leads because that is what they read first. يقف العميل على بُعد متر تقريباً ويمنح الشاشة ثانيتين. لذلك يهيمن رقم واحد، وتكون أسماء الأصناف كبيرة بما يكفي للتحقّق من تلك المسافة، والعربية أولاً لأنها ما يقرأه أولاً.
The customer display. Shown mid-order, before the customer has identified themselves — which is the only time the scan prompt appears, and why it is sitting under the lens rather than beside a name. The only thing on this screen a customer can touch is the tip. When the counter is quiet it plays your own images and video from the iPad itself — so a promotion keeps running through an outage. The scan prompt sits directly under the lens — and the app works out where that is per iPad model and rotation, because pointing a customer at the wrong bezel is worse than not prompting at all. شاشة العميل. معروضة أثناء الطلب وقبل أن يعرّف العميل نفسه — وهي اللحظة الوحيدة التي يظهر فيها تنبيه المسح، ولهذا يقع أسفل العدسة لا بجوار اسم. والشيء الوحيد الذي يمكن للعميل لمسه على هذه الشاشة هو الإكرامية. وحين يهدأ الكاونتر تعرض صورك ومقاطعك من الآيباد نفسه — فيستمرّ العرض الترويجي حتى أثناء الانقطاع. ويظهر تنبيه المسح أسفل العدسة مباشرة — ويحدّد التطبيق موضعها حسب طراز الآيباد واتجاهه، لأن توجيه العميل إلى الحافة الخطأ أسوأ من عدم التنبيه أصلاً.

Switch the device to drive-thru and the layout changes to suit a hand that is also holding a card machine: the order moves to the left, the categories to the bottom, and the lane camera comes up in the bar. بدّل الجهاز إلى وضع المسار فيتغيّر التخطيط ليناسب يداً تمسك جهاز الدفع أيضاً: ينتقل الطلب إلى اليسار، والأقسام إلى الأسفل، وتظهر كاميرا المسار في الشريط.
Drive-thru. One button hands the order to the window, and the lane keeps a queue of its own.
